Meet Ace!

Ace was found tied up inside a McDonald's, and this sweet boy is ready for a much better chapter. He may start out a little shy and unsure, but there's a charming pup underneath that cautious exterior who just needs someone willing to let him take things at his own pace. Give Ace a little patience and you may soon find yourself completely under his spell!

My Ideal Home

Ace would love a calm, patient home where he can decompress and get comfortable without being rushed. He'll do best with someone who understands that trust takes time and is happy to let him approach new people, handling, and experiences when he's ready. A predictable routine, gentle encouragement, and plenty of positive reinforcement could help Ace come out of his shell.

Good with Other Pets?

Ace has shown some big feelings when he spots other dogs while out on walks, including snarling, though he has been able to redirect his attention back to his handler. His history with other animals is unknown, so any introductions should be slow, thoughtful, and supervised while he gets comfortable in his new home.

Good with Kids?

Because Ace can be fearful and unsure in new situations, we recommend an adult-only home where he can settle in at his own pace. He'll appreciate people who can read his signals, give him space when he asks for it, and celebrate the little moments as his confidence grows.

Things to Know

Ace can be sensitive to handling and may show signs that he's uncomfortable, such as lip licking, whale eye, panting, or backing away. He's also working on his leash manners and can pull at times, but with patience and reward-based training, he has plenty of room to become a confident walking companion. Ace doesn't need someone to rush him into being brave, just someone willing to meet him where he is and help him find his way.

Can a dog flirt? Ace answers that question with a resounding yes! He may look like a mellow guy at first, but spot a human and suddenly he's all waggy tails, play bows, and happy greetings. He loved saying hello to everyone we passed and was absolutely wonderful company on a walk to the park, happily sitting by our side and enjoying the outing. This Ace has plenty of charm up his sleeve, and he just might be the sweet soul who makes someone very happy.
