Meet Quinn!

Quinn was found abandoned on the street and has shown himself to be a social, energetic, and affectionate young dog who loves play, enrichment, and spending time with people. He is especially people-oriented and quickly bonds with handlers, often greeting them with enthusiasm and playful behavior.

My Ideal Home

Quinn would do best in an active, structured home that helps him channel his energy into positive outlets such as training, enrichment, and exercise. He benefits from consistency, patience, and continued work on impulse control, confidence building, and calm handling.

Good with Other Pets?

Quinn has shown interest in other dogs during introductions and is generally social, but interactions should always be supervised and carefully managed to ensure comfort for all dogs involved.

Good with Kids?

Due to his exuberance, impulse control needs, and handling sensitivity, Quinn is recommended for an adult-only home.

Things to Know

Quinn is a playful and affectionate dog who loves toys, attention, and interactive time with people. He can be easily spooked by loud noises and may become overly excited during handling or play, so continued positive reinforcement training is important. He is working on skills like settling on a mat and polite exchange, and he responds very well to food motivation and structure. He is a social and engaged walker, though he can be strong on leash at times. With consistency and support, Quinn continues to grow more confident and focused each day.

Volunteer Note

A volunteer writes: As I sit with Quinn in the play yard, watching him retrieve balls or joyously tossing a soft toy into the air for himself, I marvel at how trusting and open he remains after 70 days in confinement. All I can offer is a 15-minute walk, Pupperoni and cuddles, yet he greets me like I'm his BFF. When I call out to him, he runs to me like I'm a long-lost friend, then hops into my lap, happily accepting pets. This young, energetic boy loves carefree playtime, but is also food motivated, which is great for learning. He is similarly noted by the shelter's canine behavior team to be social (and even playbowing to them!) & engage with enrichment as he works on impulse control, a skill that would be understandably easier for an adolescent to develop in a consistent home environment. Bonus: he comes pre-housebroken! In shelter assessments, he's been found to ignore dogs on walks, and take positive interest in another dog during a supervised introduction. Quinn is enrolled in our Shelter Scholar program and is putting in great work each and every day. He is developing two important skills, polite exchange and relaxing on a mat, both of which are helping him become a more grounded and easygoing companion. With positive reinforcement guiding the way, Quinn is growing more confident and composed with every training session.
