ABOUT ME: Ball? Throw it. No, seriously, throw it, and watch me go. I'm young, I'm fast, and pretty much everything in the world is exciting to me, especially people who hand out pets. Other dogs get my friendliest, most relaxed hello. I'm still a rookie at the whole manners thing, so I could use a coach who likes to stay busy. Pit stops are for naps. The rest of the day is for fetch.

HISTORY

Lightning McQueen showed up as a stray at a home in Georgia and has been boarding at a local vet's office. He will travel to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

DETAILED PROFILE

Toss a ball anywhere near Lightning McQueen and watch him light up. This young yellow lab mix is fun, happy, and excited by pretty much everything, and fetch sits near the top of the list. When we met him, he soaked up every pet we offered and then went right back to looking for the next throw.

He turned up as a stray at a home in Georgia and has been boarding at a local vet's office since.

Other dogs get a friendly, relaxed hello from him. But it's clear this is a dog who would love to play.

His foster home will be the test track for house and crate training, leash skills, energy at home, and how he does with kids and cats. Updates to follow once he arrives in Brooklyn.

Like most young dogs, he'll need some training to channel all that horsepower. His ideal person has a good throwing arm, likes to stay on the move, and thinks a dog who's thrilled about everything is a feature, not a bug.

MEDICAL HISTORY

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
