ABOUT ME: Guess what I think about tennis balls? Everything. Throw one and I’m gone, and when I try to stop, I skid, tumble, and pop back up with the ball like I meant to do that. New smells, new people, new places: I’m excited about all of it. But I keep circling back to check that my humans are still having fun. I just got here, so stay tuned. The best stuff is still loading.
MY FOSTER SAYS: I will arrive in Brooklyn soon! Badass will share more as soon as I’m in a foster home.
HISTORY
Marcel the Shell was found as a stray in Georgia and spent about a month in temporary care and boarding there. He traveled to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.
DETAILED PROFILE
Marcel the Shell has a fetch technique all his own. He launches after the ball at full speed, realizes a little late that stopping is part of the deal, then skids, tumbles, and comes up with the ball anyway, already trotting it back for another round. Style points are high. Brakes are a work in progress.
He’s a playful, silly puppy who finds just about everything exciting. During an early meet-up before his trip north, he explored every corner he could reach but kept checking back in with the people nearby, which says a lot about where his priorities lie. With people he’s bouncy and enthusiastic, and that includes some jumping, so his adopter should plan to work on polite greetings early.
He had an easygoing, casual hello with another dog through a fence, which is a promising start. How he does with dogs up close, cats, and kids is still unknown. The same goes for crate, house, and leash training. He’s just arriving, and his foster will learn a lot more about him as he settles in.
What’s clear already: Marcel is a young dog with plenty of energy to spend and plenty to learn, and he’s still growing. He’ll do best with an adopter ready for puppy training, daily exercise, and a generous amount of ball throwing. Someone with a good arm and a sense of humor will fit right in. He’ll handle the tumbling.
MEDICAL HISTORY
The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
