Tank Tank was surrendered to the care center as a stray, and we have very limited history on his behavior in a home environment. During the three days he spent with his finders, he was reported to have bitten their hand when they went to pick something up from next to him, a quick bite-and-release that did not break skin. He was also reported to low growl when they removed a water bowl from his possession, but did not escalate further. While at the care center, he has been observed to hard bark and lunge at his kennel door when being removed for his medical exam, but has shown social behavior with staff outside of the kennel. Due to these concerns, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can allow for decompression, provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based), and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
