Lamaohy came into ACC as a stray. Because of this we do not know how he would be in a home environment. During his time in the care center, Lamaohy has been observed to be doing kennel stress-related behaviors such as licking the kennel bars and heavy-panting in the kennel. Lamaohy has been noted to hard bark and paw at the kennel door when handlers approach. Recently Lamaohy has also been observed to push off walls when passing kennels, baring teeth. His is noted to be a social dog who is responsive with handlers. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
