Logi was surrendered to the Care Centers due to his previous owner working long hours. His previous family described him as a social, affectionate, couch potato who spends the majority of his time in the living room of the home when he is not in his crate. Logi allowed his family to bathe and brush him and is accustomed to spending up to 9 hours in a large crate, going on 3-4 20-min-long walks a day during which he pulls moderately on his leash. Logi loves going for a car ride, playing fetch, snacking on dry liver treats, and having chicken broth with his food (dry & wet varieties of Taste of the Wild). During his stay in care, Logi has been highly fearful and avoided interactions with handlers and staff. He has escalated to growling and lunging in the kennel, dodging leashing on one occasion when being removed from the kennel. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and reevaluate her behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.

A volunteer writes: Not all heroes wear capes. Some are just casually existing in an extraordinary way. Some have four paws and an ever wagging tail and are living in a kennel for almost two months. One is a dog named Logi, who really has no idea what kind of impact he's made on a number of other dogs who've found themselves in the same predicament as he is. You see, Logi has been used as a helper dog throughout his stay. One of his most notable feats is helping a dog who was previously attacked by another dog be able to safely and confidently be in the presence of other dogs. It takes a special kind of dog to be able to do this-one who lets the other dog approach at their own pace, knows when to back off and can even mirror the other dog's behavior. In other interactions with various dogs he's maintained loose and wiggly body language when interacting and playing with them. Some of the dogs Logi has helped have already been rescued, and now we think it's this hero's turn to get his safe landing.

Logi was surrendered due to his guardian no longer having time for him. He's described as an affectionate couch potato who spends most of his time in the living room. He is crate trained and rarely has accidents in the home. He loves going for car rides, snacking on his favorite liver treats, playing fetch and spending time with his family. He knows numerous cues. While Logi has warmed up to familiar handlers in recent weeks, due to some handling sensitivity seen when he arrived, he is available to foster through a New Hope partner. He will do best in a home with kids over the age of 13 that can let him acclimate at his own pace and allow him to build positive associations with things that might be scary for him.
