Meet Rice Cake!

Rice Cake is a curious girl who enjoys exploring her surroundings and has a soft, wiggly side when meeting other dogs. She can be a little distracted and unsure during handling, but she approaches people with some coaxing and is very interested in treats. Rice Cake also has some medical needs that staff will be happy to discuss with you when you meet her.

My Ideal Home

Rice Cake is looking for an adult family who has the time and patience to help her learn some good manners and feel more confident. She'll enjoy daily walks, enrichment, and fun reward based training that gives her plenty of opportunities to use her brain.

Good with Other Pets?

Rice Cake has no known history with other animals, but she showed a soft and wiggly body during a dog introduction and was interested in saying hello. She does have some resource guarding around toys, so she would need careful management around anything she considers valuable and slow, supervised introductions with other pets.

Good with Kids?

Rice Cake would do best in an adult only home. She is still learning about boundaries and can be mouthy when taking treats or excited around people, so she needs humans who can give her space and help her practice polite interactions.

Things to Know

Rice Cake is still working on her impulse control and can jump up for treats and take them a little enthusiastically. She has also shown some guarding around toys, so her family should never forcefully take valued items away and should use positive, reward based training instead. She may be a little particular about how she likes to be handled, so learning her body language and letting her choose when to engage will help her feel safe and understood.
