Hi, I'm Tesslee, lovingly called Tessie! I came up from Georgia and now I'm a city girl in NYC. I'm a super sweet puppy and I love everyone I meet. Dogs, kids, strangers, I'm friendly with all of them. I'm also really smart, and I pick up tricks fast, especially if there's a treat involved.
I nap a lot, but when I'm awake I'm go go go. Zoomies, playing with my toys, and belly rubs are my favorite. My penguin is my best friend. Don't we kind of look alike!? I'm also obsessed with my puzzle food toy, and I'll work on it until every last bite is gone. I sleep in my own bed at night, but during the day my favorite nap spot is on my foster mom's tummy. Right now I'm teething, so I nip sometimes when we play. I'm working on it! I'm still settling in, but I'm so ready to find my forever home.
Personality & Characteristics
My foster dog is good with: Dogs (she's great with them) and kids (very gentle). Not tested with cats.
My foster dog is: Mostly house trained (sleeps through the night in her own bed with no accidents), low shed. Not crate trained but does well in a playpen.
3 Keywords for your pup: Sweet, Smart, Playful
Energy Level (1 = calm, 10 = high energy): 8 when she's awake, but she naps a ton
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet. She hardly ever barks.
Walking Manners: Still learning, but she loves going outside
Appetite: Very food motivated
Favorite Things: Her penguin and other toys, her puzzle food toy, belly rubs, head pats, attention, daytime naps on her foster mom's tummy, zoomies, playing, walks, treats
Commands/Tricks: Sit and paw. She's working on leash skills now.
Ideal Home
Tessie needs someone patient who'll keep working on leash manners with her. She's smart and loves treats, so training is easy. She does fine alone for 3 to 4 hours during the day and longer overnight once she's settled, so a home where she isn't left all day would be best. She'd be great with another dog who can play with her, and she's already doing well with city life. Mostly she wants lots of attention and a lap to nap on.
