My foster writes: Bell Pepper, or BP for short, is such a cozy and cute puppy who just wants to lay by your side. Whether that's at your feet outside at a patio, or sharing the couch with your favorite show, she's happy to be there. She prefers to sleep majority of the day, but will give a wiggle dance when you grab her leash. A brief walk and a nice nap are her plans for the day!

Bell Pepper likes to go outside. As soon as i grab a leash, she would wag her tail and hit everything around her with her tail, ready and happy for a walk.
She loves her naps. She would sleep next to my foot while I'm working or in the balcony but her favorite spot is her bed in the crate.
When it's time to wipe her paws after a walk, this super smart girl knows and tries to go to her safe spot, which is her crate, and hides there.

Meet Bell Pepper!

Bell Pepper is an 11-year-old sweetheart who came to us as an owner surrender. She has lived with adults and is described as friendly, outgoing, and playful with new people. She enjoys attention but prefers to engage on her own terms. She is the kind of dog who likes to be near her people and soak up the calm moments of the day.

Personality

Bell Pepper enjoys being part of whatever her people are doing. She loves a good cuddle session and is happiest when she can relax close to someone she trusts. She is more of a couch potato than a toy player and enjoys fuzzy blankets. She can be a little anxious at times, so she will benefit from structure and supervision in a home.

Daily Life

Bell Pepper walks nicely on leash with no pulling and does not react to people or other dogs while out. She enjoys a calm, steady routine and tends to keep to herself in new environments until she feels comfortable. Once settled, she is easygoing and enjoys simply being near her person. She is partially crate trained and can stay in a crate for up to several hours as long as it is large enough for her to move comfortably.

Training and Manners

Bell Pepper knows several cues including sit, stay, paw, and go. She is treat motivated and will happily take most foods offered to her. She is not reactive toward people on walks and handles gentle and more active handling well, standing still and tolerating contact. She may be a bit more reserved in unfamiliar situations but recovers quickly once she feels safe.

Social Behavior

Bell Pepper is generally soft and low key in new environments. She may take a moment to warm up and will approach when coaxed. She enjoys calm interaction and prefers gentle engagement over high energy play.

A volunteer writes: Bell Pepper 🫑 if a girl could be more my type, then I haven't met her yet. She is 11 years old, but none the wiser to that fact. Age is just a number, and Bell is the definition of young at heart. She bounds towards us, confident and happy. Jumps around for treats, trying to impress us with her sassy sit (and succeeding). She is so full of life and fun that it lifts our spirits and fills us with laughter. I joke that I'd keep her name and call her Bell when she's sweet and Pepper when she's spicy.
