Junie B. Jones was found as a stray and is still figuring out the world around her. This sweet, sensitive girl may be a little unsure at first, but she's quietly curious and wants to connect, she just needs a little time and patience to get there.

Things to Know

Junie B. Jones is a gentle, shy girl who may show a mix of curiosity and hesitation when meeting new people. She'll stay close by, offer small tail wags, and accept light petting once she feels a bit more comfortable. Handling is tolerated but she may appear unsure at first, showing signals like lip licking or a tucked tail. With time, she begins to soften and relax. A volunteer writes: Junie B. Jones 💕 Junie made her way to the shelter via a field rescue. She had been left behind after an eviction and was in a room when the shelter's team arrived. Soft kind voices was all it took for Junie to approach and sniff, and be off to the safety of the shelter.

You can imagine that these circumstances were scary for her, and Junie was timid and scared for a bit. But within weeks she's become not only brave and social, but a sassy girl! And I LOVE a girl full of sass, bonus points if she's middle aged or senior. And Junie is a perfect 6 years old. She adores toys and makes sure I know I'm meant to throw them for her to fetch by tossing them at my feet and backing up in anticipation. When I'm slow, which is often, she barks hoarsely her complaints at me, honestly one of the cutest scratchy barks I have ever heard. We play and then she goes back to her kennel where she naps in a sun spot.
