Hazel is a sweet, gentle 2-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix weighing about 15 pounds. She is wonderfully quiet and well-behaved in the home, and she’s completely house-trained. Hazel is a little scared and is still learning that people can be trusted, so she’ll need a patient family willing to let her come out of her shell at her own pace. She’s already showing how smart she is—she’s excellent at sitting and does very well with “come” when asked.

Hazel is gentle and hesitant, which makes her wonderful with both children and other dogs. She would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can build confidence and learn that she is safe. Hazel is not yet crate-trained, and she may occasionally have an accident or cry when crated, so her new family will need to continue working with her on this. With patience, kindness, and time, Hazel has all the makings of a deeply devoted little companion.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
