Meet Big Boy! Big Boy is a 5-month-old, 6-lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, who enjoys soft jazz and warm beds.
Big Boy's dream home can provide a cozy bed, a gentle little dog friend, and someone who understands that the best relationships take time to blossom. At just 5 months old, this tiny Chihuahua mix is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. Big Boy is a very shy, sensitive little guy who feels most comfortable in the security of his crate, where he can relax and take things at his own pace. He is crate trained and is potty pad trained, too!
He's happiest curled up in warm, cozy spots and enjoys the companionship of another small dog. Having a low-to-moderate-energy canine friend around seems to help him feel a little more at ease. If no companion is available, he would appreciate a lot of individual attention. Big Boy will need a patient, understanding adopter who can give him the time, space, and reassurance he needs to build confidence. A calm, quiet home without a lot of commotion would be ideal for him.
He may not be the puppy who runs up to greet you just yet, but with love, patience, and a routine, we're hopeful he will become someone's lifelong best friend. Big Boy is currently being fostered in Woodbridge, NJ and his adoption fee is $575.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
