Meet Wyona!

Wyona is a sweet, gentle girl who is still getting her bearings here at ACC. She can be a little unsure at first, but with some patience and encouragement, she'll happily come along with you. She's especially sensitive about her back right now, so she's looking for someone who will give her the time and TLC she deserves.

My Ideal Home

Wyona would love a calm home where she can take things at her own pace. She's looking for a patient person who will help her feel safe, spoil her with plenty of enrichment, and show her that good things are ahead.

Good with Other Pets?

Wyona's history with other animals is a mystery. She's met a few dogs at ACC and has been a little unsure, so slow introductions will be important. For now, dog parks aren't her scene, but she may enjoy making some carefully chosen canine friends in the future.

Good with Kids?

Wyona would do best in an adult-only home where she can relax and have her personal space respected while she gets comfortable.

Things to Know

Wyona has some skin irritation that makes her back uncomfortable, and staff will be happy to talk with you about her medical needs when you meet her. She's been through a lot of change, and what she really needs now is someone willing to be patient, gentle, and in her corner. With a little love, Wyona could be one very happy girl!

My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Wyona is a gentle soul that loves to be next to you and cuddle. She is very treat motivated and clearly potty trained! First we went to get a pup cup and when she jumped up for it, I told her down and sit, and she listened. We then went to Bushwick Bark and she picked out two long lasting chews to enjoy in the park. Many park goers commented on her beauty while walking by and two were interested in learning more about adoption. Then we went to the outdoor area of Heavy Woods and she crashed their bingo event with how much attention she received! Wyona was happiest when she got to lean in for pets and sit on the lap of anyone that invited her to. She's a social dog and was non reactive to dogs passing by (I did not hear her bark all day). Wyona is the perfect mix of couch potato and city explorer, she's up for whatever you want to do as long as she gets to be with you! Wyona is a special dog that made many people's days brighter and will one day make a wonderful addition to a forever family.
