Raina is at risk due to behavior concerns in her previous caretaker's home. Raina was reported to have engaged in an altercation initiated by the other resident dog. As both dogs were holding on to one another, the caretaker attempted to separate the dogs and received bites to both hands, leaving minor puncture wounds. Raina's caretaker reported that she can be affectionate and social with familiar people, is fearful of strangers, and enjoys duck jerky treats. Medically, Raina is apparently healthy.
Raina was surrendered as a stray with a limited history given by her caretaker. Raina's caretaker described her as a sweet dog who loved being scratched, rubbed, and massaged by her person. She is noted to be fearful at times and will lunge at other dogs on walks. During her stay in their care, the resident dog initiated an altercation with Raina. Both dogs bit and held each other; the caretaker attempted to separate both dogs and was bitten on both hands, resulting in superficial punctures. Due to these concerns, we recommend for her to be placed in an adult only home where she can be the only dog through a New Hope rescue partner.
