ABOUT ME: Quick wrestle with a new dog friend? Love it. A few rounds, then I’m happy to call it and go check out whatever smells interesting. Who won? Honey Badger don’t care. I’m young, I’ve got energy to burn, and Brooklyn is brand new, so give me time. People, though? Free hand, meet head. That I care about.

MY FOSTER SAYS: I will arrive in Brooklyn soon! Badass will share more as soon as I’m in a foster home.

HISTORY

Honey Badger is from Georgia, where she was rescued as a puppy with her littermates. A local woman adopted her as a pet for her teenage grandson. About six months later, the family had lost interest in caring for a young dog, so she was taken back into rescue care. She will travel to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

DETAILED PROFILE

Honey Badger has a simple system for meeting a new dog: a few rounds of quick, happy wrestling, a pause, and then off to investigate whatever smells more interesting. During an introduction to another dog, she was playful and social, and she broke off the game easily when it was time to move on. Who won? Honey Badger don’t care. She’s a big brindle girl with places to sniff.

People get her full attention. She’s super friendly and eager to soak up every pet on offer, the kind of dog who makes a first meeting feel easy. She’s young, with some energy to spend. Pets, however, are something she cares about a great deal.

She spent her first months as a family pet in Georgia, until that family stopped making time for her and she was left alone in the backyard, where she found her own entertainment in the outdoor furniture. Her adopter should plan on good chew toys and daily exercise until she's a bit more mature.

Her crate and house training, leash manners, energy at home, and how she does with kids and cats are all still unknown, and her foster will fill in those blanks once she’s had time to settle. Expect a real adjustment period as she swaps a backyard for city sidewalks.

Big, friendly, and refreshingly low on drama, Honey Badger would like to know when you’re free to say hello.

MEDICAL HISTORY

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
