Cobby is at risk due to behavioral concerns. In the Care Centers, Cobby is highly fearful, especially when placed on a slip lead. He was observed to thrash and screech. He allows staff to pick him up but remains anxious in the room. His owner described him as a social, tolerant dog. Medically, Cobby is obese and has
otitis externa.

Cobby was surrendered to the Care Centers due to landlord and neighbor issues with the previous owners. His previous owners described him as a social and affectionate dog. He can be lazy at times and playful at others. He was reported to bark and growl at strangers. During his stay in care, Cobby has been highly fearful and has avoided walking on a leash with staff. He has baulked on the leash, refused to walk forward, and needed to be carried. He is also noted to be heavily panting, attempting to seek exit while whimpering. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and reevaluate her behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
