ABOUT ME: Lean is my love language. I'll find you, park my big head on your lap, and stay as long as you'll let me. I'm goofy (that glass door came out of nowhere), easygoing, and quick to make friends with strangers. Car rides? I hop in, settle down, and keep the volume low. Bath time? Scrub away. I'm still getting the hang of my new home, but staying close to my people? Already nailed it.

MY FOSTER SAYS: "She was groomed this week and stood for almost 2 hours and got lots of compliments from the groomer on how sweet she was. She also likes to just drop her head onto your chest while she leans on you."

HISTORY

Brandi Carlile came to us from Selma, Alabama; no information about her history before rescue is available. She traveled to Brooklyn in late September 2026.

DETAILED PROFILE

"Brandi Carlile’s signature move is the lean. She finds her person, rests her big head on their lap (or drops it right onto their chest), and settles in like she was invited to stay. She’s goofy, a little clumsy (she once walked straight into a glass door and carried on unbothered), and sweet enough to win over the professionals: she stood patiently through a nearly two-hour grooming session and collected compliments the whole time.

She’s still settling in, but early signs point to a gentle, moderate-energy companion who’s quick to trust. She warmed up fast to strangers at an adoption event and at home, leaning in for pets and asking for more. Car rides? She hops into her crate, settles without a treat, and rides so quietly her foster kept checking on her. Her favorite pastimes are cuddling, a little squirrel-watching from the backyard, and slowly getting to know her first stuffed toy.

With other dogs she’s friendly and social. She shares her foster home peacefully with a resident dog (the two have even swapped beds), and while she’d love more playtime, her play can get rough and mouthy, so any dog sibling should enjoy that style. She hasn’t been around cats or lived with kids yet, though nothing so far suggests concerns with children.

She’s crate trained and quiet once inside, and she’s house trained with no accidents in her foster home. Leash manners are a work in progress, and squirrels are a known weakness.

She follows her people from room to room, yet stays calm when the crate door closes. For anyone after a big, affectionate dog who’s easy to live with, Brandi is ready for the next verse."

MEDICAL HISTORY

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
