Cub Scout is at risk for behavior reasons. Cub Scout is deteriorating in care. He has become more hypervigilant on walks, escalating to barking or lunging at unfamiliar people. When being removed from kennel, he will jump up and bite at the leash, then kennel fight with neighboring dogs. Cub Scout remains sweet and social while in the yard with familiar staff and volunteers, leaning into their laps, or lounging on the floor. He has done well greeting other dogs and was found alongside another male mixed breed. Medically, he is apparently healthy.

Meet Cub Scout
Cub Scout is a sweet dog who was found as a stray alongside another male dog. When he first arrived, he was friendly and welcoming with everyone he met, showing just how social and personable he can be.

Unfortunately, the stress of the shelter environment has begun to take a toll on Cub Scout. Recently, he has become more hypervigilant on walks, particularly when approaching unfamiliar people. This behavior appears to be a reflection of the stress and overstimulation he is experiencing in the shelter, rather than the friendly dog he initially showed himself to be.

Cub Scout would do best with an experienced adopter who understands shelter stress and is willing to give him a proper decompression period in a calm, predictable home. With time, patience, structure, and the opportunity to settle in at his own pace, Cub Scout deserves the chance to relax and let his true personality shine again.

He is looking for someone who will give him the time and support he needs to feel safe and confident. For the right experienced person, Cub Scout could be a wonderful companion.
