Chase arrived at MACC as an owner surrender. Initially Chase was observed to be highly fearful while in care. Noted to have a tense body and would retreat from handlers when they attempted to interact. On the street Chase would attempt to runaway from stimuli such as cars passing by. Over time Chase warmed up to handlers and presents with a loose body and wagging tail. Recently Chase has been observed to have a low threshold for arousal. Noted to jump up high on handlers while on walks. In one instance, Chase jumped up and bit the handler on the lip. Due to the detailed behavior we recommend an experienced adult only home.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!
I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!
I need a home without cats or small animals.
I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.
