Meet Chevron - the sweetest little girl with the most gentle soul.
At 6 years old and under 14 lbs, Chevron may be mature and full grown but she's truly just a mid aged girl ready to start her life.
After being found abandoned and locked inside of a local gas station bathroom, Chevron can be quite timid and fearful of people. Although in a new environment she may curl up tight and keep to herself, as she realizes that most people are kind you will have the privilege of watching her become braver every single day - and in just a few days, you could expect Chevron to cautiously greet you with a wagging tail and willing to accept being pet.
Chevron is still becoming accustomed to being around humans who actually love her and are excited to care for her so although she hasn't been taught any formal commands, it is very clear that she is a dog who wants to be wanted and would love to be loved - we wouldn't be surprised how hard she will work when she's ready to reciprocate that love and make her humans proud!
Chevron is still figuring out life outdoors and can benefit from a home that is cool with giving her time to adjust while acclimating to weepads and then casually introducing her to the outside world. Due to Chevy's limited exposure to everything nice in the world she can be fearful of small chaotic children and very forward dogs - opting to keep her distance so she knows she's safe. Despite being unfamiliar with small kids and other dogs, Chevron has absolutely no desire to be defensive or aggressive but instead she only hopes that she won't be harmed by others.
Despite her reserved nature, there are certain things that show us who Chevron really is deep down under all of her lived experience and two of those things are her immense love for chicken and how she melts into your hand when you scratch her behind the ears.
Although Chevron has so acclimating to do and may need some time to blossom into a brave and outgoing girl, she is the prime example that when you pour love into something you love, they grow into the epitome of love. In just a few short weeks, Chevrons unique underbite will become her signature feature and unkempt fur will become the thick, shiny, silky mane we know is waiting to surface with some implete tender love and care.
In just one weeks time, we've watched Chevron make amazing progress with feeling safe and trusting humans - we are so excited to see the relationships and bonds she is able tp build when her forever family finally finds her for good this time.
