HISTORY

Maubi was rescued from the island of Dominica, where he injured his back left knee after being hit by a car; the leg was saved, and he gets around well despite a noticeable limp. He traveled to Brooklyn in late June 2026.

DETAILED PROFILE

Maubi's foster once took him to lunch, unaware a drag show was about to break out around them. Most dogs would find the noise and crowd a lot to handle. Maubi simply joined in, tail going, fully part of the show, photo with a queen included. Very little rattles this dog.

He's gentle, friendly, intuitive, and eager to please, and tends to look to his people and his foster brother for a read on anything new. He's been sweet with a baby, and he's done well with cats: a little too playful with the resident cat at first, he took one warning hiss in stride and now coexists with them easily. His real joy is other dogs; he and his foster brother Roscoe are fast best friends who play and nap in a pile, and he'd happily share a home with another dog.

An old car injury left Maubi with a noticeable limp. He gets around well but tires on long outings and isn't a fan of being carried, so a home without many flights of stairs and an easy walking pace suit him best. He has a crate foundation (a treat helps him settle), and his house training has come a long way. He can be mouthy and is a bit of a counter-and-trash investigator, so he currently does best with supervision and dog-proofing.

His favorite kind of day is simple: his people, a dog friend to orbit, and a soft place to land after a gentle walk.

MEDICAL HISTORY

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs will be addressed prior to adoption.

A medical history can be sent to applicants and approved adopters.

Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption but can also be sent pre-adoption, upon request.
