Meet Zoolander!
Zoolander came to ACC when his owner could no longer care for him. He's a fun-loving, outgoing pup who greets life with enthusiasm! He loves people, enjoys playtime, and is always ready for his next adventure. Shelter life has been a little overwhelming at times, and his excitement can get the best of him, but beneath it all is a friendly dog looking for an active family to help him channel his energy in positive ways.
My Ideal Home
Zoolander is looking for an active, experienced home that can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and positive reinforcement training. He will benefit from learning polite manners, especially around greetings and walking on leash when he's excited. A family committed to continuing his training will help him thrive and bring out his very best.
Good with Kids?
Due to his exuberant play style, social over-arousal, and sensitivity to handling around his neck, Zoolander is recommended for a home with children 13 years and older.
Good with Other Pets?
Zoolander previously lived successfully with other dogs and was described as friendly, outgoing, and playful. In the shelter, he remained appropriate during a dog introduction, greeting another dog calmly through a barrier. He may do well with a compatible canine companion after slow introductions. His previous owner described him as curious about cats.
Overall Health
Zoolander is healthy overall. He has mild dental tartar and gingivitis, and our veterinary team recommends a dental evaluation after adoption.
Behavior Determination
Level 4 - Experienced Adopters. Zoolander is a friendly, social dog who becomes easily overstimulated when excited. He will do best with adopters who can continue reward-based training to build his impulse control, teach calm behaviors, and respect his sensitivity to handling around his neck.
Other Fun Facts
Zoolander loves squeaky toys, enjoys fruit as a treat, and has an adorable habit of carrying his leash around in his mouth! He has a playful, goofy personality and is sure to keep his future family smiling with his enthusiasm for life.
