ABOUT ME: Life’s short, so I don’t waste it playing hard to get. Open my kennel and I’m out like I’ve got plans. The plans? A scratch from you, then a scratch from whoever’s next. I’m friendly with everybody, but I won’t crowd you. Other dogs? Bring them. I make friends fast, and my crew is always the fun group everyone wants to join. Brooklyn’s brand new to me, and I plan to live a little.

MY FOSTER SAYS: I will arrive in Brooklyn soon! Badass will share more as soon as I’m in a foster home.

HISTORY

YOLO was found as a stray in Georgia and was taken in by our rescue partner there, where he has been boarding at their kennels. He will travel to Brooklyn in mid-October 2026.

DETAILED PROFILE

YOLO came out of his kennel the easy way: no fuss, no hesitation, just a calm stroll toward the rescue team like he’d been expecting them. Before anyone could make introductions, another dog trotted over to say hello, and he greeted her right back. Then he made the rounds, accepting pets from every person there without ever turning pushy or needy about it.

Other dogs seem to be his thing. During a test introduction with a second dog, the two fell into some genuinely playful back-and-forth, enough that one team member figured they’d be the fun pair in any summer camp group. He’s a medium-sized young adult with moderate energy, the kind of dog who’s glad to join the fun without needing to run the show.

He hasn’t arrived in Brooklyn yet, so all of this comes from a single visit. His crate and house training, leash manners on city sidewalks, energy at home, and how he does with kids and cats are still unknown, and his foster will fill in those details once he’s had time to settle. Since he’s coming from kennel life, his adopter should plan on basic training and a real adjustment period as he gets used to living in a home.

For a dog named after the motto of living in the moment, YOLO is refreshingly unhurried about it. He’d just like the next moment to include you.

MEDICAL HISTORY

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs and medical history will be addressed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.
