Meet Flax!
At 5 years old, Flax is a handsome, treat loving sweetheart who's ready for his happily ever after! Found as a stray, he's hoping to trade shelter life for cozy naps, leisurely walks, and a family to call his own. This social boy loves meeting people, happily approaches for treats, and has already shown us that he's a playful friend to other dogs. Flax is ready to find a home where he can feel cherished and loved every day!

My Ideal Home
Flax would love a home where he can enjoy daily walks, playtime, and plenty of quality time with his favorite people. He's an enthusiastic guy who will benefit from fun training sessions, food puzzles, long lasting chews, and games that keep his mind busy. He's also a big fan of treats, so you'll have a great way to help him learn new things while building a bond. Just be ready for plenty of happy greetings along the way!

Good with Other Pets?
Flax recently met another dog at ACC and showed off his playful side with bouncy play bows, happy circles, and lots of back and forth fun. He was comfortable taking breaks and letting the other dog sniff him, too. Since his history with other pets is unknown, slow and thoughtful introductions are still recommended, but Flax has given us some lovely glimpses of his potential as a canine companion.

Good with Kids?
Flax's history with children is unknown. His social personality and love of treats make him a fun guy to get to know, and calm, respectful introductions will help everyone start off on the right paw.

Things to Know
Flax walks with only mild pulling and was a lovely walking buddy during his Boroughbreaker outing, enjoying a long walk without barking. He can get excited and jump up when he's hoping for treats, so positive reinforcement will help him practice polite greetings. He's also working on gaining a little weight, and luckily, mealtime and treats are right up his alley! Flax is a whole lot of sweetness wrapped up in one handsome package, and he's ready to find the family who will adore him.

Flax was such a dream to spend the day with! He's incredibly photogenic, loves his walks, and didn't bark once during our long stroll together. He also enjoys seeing other dogs and would love the chance to make some new furry friends. This sweet boy is a big fan of treats and mealtime, and it's clear that he's eager to soak up the good things life has to offer. He's learning more every day about what love looks like, and it's so special to see. All this handsome guy needs is a loving family, a safe place to land, and someone to call his own. He deserves to know what it feels like to be cherished, chosen, and loved forever!

A Volunteer Wrote: This bat-eared boy is the self-designated meeter and greeter at the shelter and out on the streets. where he smiles and wags his tail at all living creatures. Flax finds himself here after his owner passed away, but he has managed to retain his great cheer and a whole lot of love. After an easy, peasy stroll to the park (he has great leash manners and never pulls toward another dog), he put his head in my lap and let me know what he really wanted was to have a reassuring hand on him. Other volunteers agree, calling him a "great walker!" and a "very sweet boy!" These things and so much more! Please come meet Flax.
