Brock was surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him and has since shown himself to be a smart, social, and affectionate "brindle potato" with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He's a true people-lover who enjoys making friends wherever he goes and settles into routines quickly.

My Ideal Home

Brock would do best with an adopter who understands resource guarding and can manage mealtime and high-value items appropriately. He thrives with structure, enrichment, and positive reinforcement training. He especially enjoys food-based activities like training games and puzzle toys, and will benefit from calm, consistent handling around valued items.

Good with Other Pets?

Brock has shown mixed but generally social interactions with other dogs in care, including loose and playful moments. His comfort level can vary, so slow, supervised introductions are recommended if living with another dog. He has shown strong reactions to cats and would likely do best without feline companions.

Good with Kids?

Due to resource guarding behaviors and mouthiness with food, Brock would do best in a home without young children.

My foster writes: Meet Brock, a beautiful brindle potato with a heart of gold! Brock was so sweet and trusting with us from the get go, and I believe he will easily bond with anyone who shows him love and takes good care of him. He is very smart and observant and picks up on routines quickly, knows lots of commands such as sit, stay, come, down and paw, and has a lot of potential for further training as he is VERY food motivated and lives for a tasty treat! Brock is a social butterfly and loves all people, making friends and admirers everywhere he goes. Despite being a seasoned older gentleman he retains a playful, puppy-like energy when he's excited, but he also loves being a couch potato and will happily lounge with you and lay his big head in your lap while you watch TV. Brock has brought so much love and joy into our lives as a foster, and whoever adopts him will be so lucky to have him!
