ABOUT ME: A few scars, but I strut like I own the place. New folks get a quick once-over, then I'm all wacky zoomies and, once I've settled in with you, a squirmy pile of belly rubs. I'm bold, goofy, and up for fetch or a chew. I'm food motivated (chicken treats, please), still learning to take them politely. I can run fast and jump high, and I'm convinced there's another dog living in the mirror.

MY FOSTER SAYS: "She's such a cuddler, heart stealer, sandwich stealer. Our first day together, I must not have closed the refrigerator completely. She came bounding into the living room with a cooked chicken breast like she'd just won the lottery."

HISTORY

Carib Grackle was found as a stray in Dominica after being hit by a car, arriving in rescue care with injuries that initially left her unable to walk. She recovered from those injuries and traveled to Brooklyn in late-June 2026.

DETAILED PROFILE

Carib Grackle carries herself like she owns the room, and a few old scars do nothing to slow her down. She's a bold, goofy, high-spirited girl who greets the world with big, excited energy and a set of genuinely wacky zoomies, then folds into a squirmy pile of belly rubs the moment she's settled in with someone. Pet her sides while she's standing and she melts right over.

She's athletic and very food-motivated, so a pocket of chicken treats goes a long way (skip the peanut butter, which she firmly declines). She loves emptying a toy basket one plush at a time, a good game of fetch, and a round of 'tennis' when someone will serve for her. With other dogs she warms from cautious to curious to full-on playful, and she does best with a well-matched friend who enjoys her rowdy style; she can miss the cues when another dog wants a break, so she'll benefit from an adopter who helps her read those signals. She's been easy around kids met out and about, and she's been cat-tested and can live with cats.

Her training is in good shape. She's house-trained and crate-trained, heading into the crate a little reluctantly but settling fine. She's still working on puppy mouthiness and jumping, and on leash she's generally solid, with the occasional wild, distractible day that rewards an attentive handler.

Walks, for the record, are just the opening act; the real event is whatever game comes after.

The dogs in our care are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered (when old enough), microchipped, and given a general health check. Immediate medical needs will be addressed prior to adoption.
