Meet Midas!
Midas is a playful, high-energy boy who is looking for a little stability after some big changes. His former family says he was comfortable being handled, didn't mind having his paws or collar touched, and was friendly with familiar and unfamiliar dogs. He's feeling pretty shy in the shelter right now, but we're hoping that with some time and a home of his own, we'll get to see more of the happy personality his family knew and loved.
My Ideal Home
Midas would love an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, enrichment, and quality time with his people. He's used to going potty outside on walks and using wee-wee pads when needed, with very few accidents, so he already has a nice head start on his home routine. He would also benefit from a calm, predictable environment and a family prepared to help him feel comfortable being home alone.
Good with Other Pets?
Midas's former family describes him as friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs, but he's been much more nervous around dogs while at ACC. A recent introduction was inconclusive because he was too worried to comfortably engage, so any resident pets should be introduced slowly and thoughtfully once Midas has had time to settle in.
Good with Kids?
Midas would do best in an adult-only home where things can stay calm while he gets comfortable. He's a sensitive boy who will appreciate having plenty of space and the freedom to approach new people when he's ready.
Things to Know
Midas is understandably feeling nervous in the shelter and may retreat when approached, so he'll need a patient person who is happy to let him come out of his shell in his own time. His former family also reported that he can be anxious when left alone, so a home where someone is around much of the day, or a thoughtful plan for helping him gradually feel comfortable alone, would be a great fit. Once this sweet guy feels safe and secure, we're hoping his playful side will start to make a much bigger appearance.
