Hi, I’m Freedom Trail—but my foster family calls me Mommy!
I’m a happy, sweet, lovable girl who is soaking up everything that comes with being part of a family. After spending far too long without the comfort and care every dog deserves, I’m making up for lost time by enjoying cozy naps, playing with all my new toys, and all the love my foster family has to give. They say I’m settling into home life like I’ve always belonged here!
I’m estimated to be around 2-3 years old, about 50 pounds, and possibly a pocket Pittie mix. My foster family has been treating me like the little queen I am, and I’ve happily embraced the good life!
Personality & Characteristics: Mommy is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and very easygoing! She has a wonderful balance of gentle playfulness and relaxation. She enjoys playing with her toys, spending time with her canine friends, and is just as happy lounging nearby while her people go about their day. She has a calm, loving nature and is always happy to make new friends. She is an absolute joy to have around and a very go with the flow kind of girl.
Good with:
● Dogs: Yes! She has settled in beautifully with both a 3-month-old male foster puppy and a 6-month-old resident female dog.
● Kids: Likely yes! While she hasn’t officially been tested with children, she has shown herself to be exceptionally friendly and gentle with everyone she’s met.
● Cats: Still being evaluated. She has shown curiosity and has chased the resident cats. Slow introductions and proper management are recommended.
Training:
● ✅ House trained
● ✅ Crate trained
● ✅ Also does well relaxing in a gated room when left alone
● Shedding: Average
3 Keywords: Sweet • Easygoing • Resilient
Energy Level (1 = calm, 10 = high energy): 3/10
Barker or Quiet Pup?: Mostly quiet.
Walking Manners: Mommy is a slow, observant walker who enjoys taking her time and taking in the world around her. She isn’t in a rush and makes a wonderful companion for leisurely strolls. She makes sure to take the time to stop and smell the roses.
Appetite: Great appetite! She’s enjoying nutritious meals and thriving.
Favorite Things: Playing with her toys, lounging around the house, soaking up affection, and living the spoiled life she always deserved.
Commands/Tricks: Still learning—but she’s eager to please!
Additional Notes: Mommy is able to navigate a single flight of stairs just fine, but Because of her short, stocky build, her foster family currently carries her whenever possible to help preserve her hips and joints for the long term. For that reason, she’d be happiest long term in a home with minimal or no stairs, where she can stay comfortable and active for years to come.

🏡 Ideal Home for Freedom Trail (Mommy)

Mommy will thrive in a calm, stable home where she can simply enjoy being a loving companion.

Her ideal home includes:

  • A relaxed household looking for a calm, affectionate dog
  • A home with minimal or no stairs to support her long-term joint health
  • A chill environment where she can enjoy short walks and being your couch companion
  • A family who appreciates a slow-moving, observant dog who enjoys life at an easy pace
  • A home that values companionship without high activity demands

Mommy would not be suited for a very active lifestyle or a home expecting a high-energy or athletic dog. Instead, she shines as a steady, affectionate companion who brings a happy & calm presence to the home.

In the right home, she will continue to blossom into a deeply loving, devoted companion who simply enjoys being near her people.

Interested in adopting Mommy?
All adoptions require a completed application and final adoption contract. Applications can be found at WaldosRescue.org. Once your application is approved, you’ll be connected with my foster family to see if we’re the perfect match.
Waldo’s Rescue Pen is a 501(c)(3) rescue organization dedicated to saving dogs from euthanasia lists at high-kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. Because we are a rescue—not a shelter—we carefully review veterinary and personal references as part of our adoption process. While we’re grateful for every application, we’re unable to contact every applicant for every dog. Our goal is to place each dog in the home that’s the best fit for their individual needs.

Just Rescues does not process applications. The rescue's page is authoritative.
