Minnie has settled in beautifully at home. She’s incredibly smart, endlessly curious, very sweet, and a total cuddler. It's only been three days and she already knows to go into the crate, sit, stay, and paw.
Crate training: She took to her crate on day one. If you stand by the crate, point, and tell her to get in, she hops right in. She usually rests or plays happily inside, and she slept through her very first night. She’ll occasionally whine, but she settles down on her own within 5-10 minutes.
Day to day: Minnie has playful bursts of energy followed by naps throughout the day. She loves chewing on her toys, especially her stuffed animal and rope. House training is going well, she uses the pads each time. She was calm and relaxed during bath time and on the car ride.
Walks: She’s an indoor puppy for now, so we can’t speak to how she does on walks yet. She does enjoy sitting on your lap in the sun though.
Minnie is approximately 0y 2m 26d old and may be 100 to 120 pounds when fully grown. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done.
Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog.
