Meet Miso!

Miso was brought to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him, and now this sweet and spirited boy is ready to find his next chapter. He's a social pup who loves attention, happily leans into pets, and will proudly show off his sit cue for treats. Safe to say this Miso is packed with flavor.

My Ideal Home

Miso would thrive in an active adult-only home that can give him plenty of exercise, enrichment, and structure. He's an enthusiastic guy who benefits from routine and positive reinforcement training to help channel all his energy in fun, productive ways.

Good with Other Pets?

Miso has shown relaxed and neutral behavior around another dog at the shelter. Slow introductions are always recommended, but he appeared calm and polite during his interaction.

Good with Kids?

ACC recommends a home with no children under 13 due to Miso's low threshold for arousal and high energy level.

Things to Know

Miso is a busy boy who loves to explore, sniff around, and stay on the move. He can pull hard on leash when excited and may become overstimulated easily, but he is also very social, affectionate, and eager to engage with people. He enjoys toys, takes treats gently, and responds well to attention and guidance. With the right balance of activity, patience, and continued training, Miso is ready to stir up some happiness in his future home.

Miso's favorite hobbies currently include speed walking, investigating every corner of the room, and collecting compliments from everyone he meets.

A volunteer writes: o know Miso is to love Miso. On our very first walk, he happily made friends, coming over when I called and leaning in for pets with a wagging tail. At one point, he tilted his head back and gazed up at me as if to say, "Chin rubs, please" and when I obliged, he squinted his eyes and pressed in even closer. He showed other volunteers his playful side, happily galloping around the yard with his new stuffed toy and having a blast playing fetch with it. He's also a big fan of treats and isn't picky about how they arrive - by hand (his favorite), placed on the ground, tucked into his bed, or squeezed straight from a peanut butter pouch.

Miso came to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He seems to be housebroken and knows the cue for "sit". When the shelter did a gate-greet with an unfamiliar female dog, he approached with a neutral body, sniffed her through the gate, then walked away. Miso would do best in a home without young children and would thrive with daily exercise and enrichment. He needs a little work on his greetings (he sometimes jumps up in excitement) and leash manners (he pulls moderately), but he's smart, social, and treat- motived - an excellent combination for learning. Most of all, Miso is an affectionate, fun-loving pup ready to charm his way into a forever home.
