Duke came into ACC as a stray. Because of this, we do not know how he is in a home environment. During his time in the care center, he displayed high levels of fear and anxiety. He has been observed to have very high hackles, a flushed face, and rapid darting eyes when his behavioral assessment was attempted. He is noted to be loose and wiggly at times. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
