Kane was surrendered to the care center by his previous owner due to his owner's health issues. Kane is described by his previous owners as friendly, outgoing and energetic dog who loves to run and go on walks, and enjoys cheese treats, bones, rope toys. While social with handlers, Kane has shown high arousal and anxious behavior at the care center, including jumping and mouthing during his medical exam and handling assessment, and heavy panting and fast pacing when in novel or unfamiliar situations. Due to these concerns, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide a period of decompression, any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based), and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
