Bright Lighton was surrendered to the care center as a stray and we have no history on his behavior in a home environment. Bright Lighton has not acclimated well to the care center environment and has been intensely fearful, showing reluctance to both leave and enter his kennel, urinating when approached, and maintaining a stiff, tense posture around handlers and hard staring. Early in his stay, he was observed growling at staff approaching his kennel. Due to his highly fearful behavior while in care, we recommend placement with an experienced New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
