Daisy was surrendered to the care center due to her owner's housing situation. Daisy is described as a social, affectionate, playful dog who likes to cuddle and sleep with her person. Daisy is reported to have bitten a child in the lip when they grabbed her, a bite-and-release that required 2-3 stitches. Daisy has shown fearful behavior while at the care center with novel people and during medical handling, where she has thrashed and snapped, but in calm environments and with some known handlers has shown social behavior. Due to the concerns reported in the previous home and at the care center, the behavior department recommends that Daisy be placed with a New Hope placement partner who can provide an experienced adult-only foster home that can provide her with a period of decompression, necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based), and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
