Meet Junebugg!
Junebugg was found running loose on the street by himself, and while his history is unknown, he's already shown that he's a sensitive boy who needs a little time and space to feel safe. Once he warms up, he is willing to engage and even takes treats, showing that there's a thoughtful, treat-motivated pup underneath his initial worry.
My Ideal Home
Junebugg would do best in a calm, patient home that can give him slow introductions to new people, places, and routines. He benefits from structure, predictable handling, and positive reinforcement to help him feel secure. A quieter environment without overwhelming stimulation will help him continue to build confidence at his own pace.
Good with Other Pets?
Junebugg's history with other animals is unknown, and he has shown discomfort during initial introductions at the shelter, so careful, controlled introductions are recommended.
Good with Kids?
Due to his sensitivity to handling and new stimuli, Junebugg is recommended for an adult-only home.
Things to Know
Junebugg walks well on leash once outside the kennel and is generally loose-leashed and non-reactive in open environments, though he can be vocal and tense in confined spaces. With time, consistency, and force-free training, Junebugg has strong potential to become more comfortable and trusting in his environment.
Fun Fact
Once Junebugg feels safe, he shows a softer side, especially when cheese is involved, which quickly helps him settle and engage with the world around him.
