Pop-Up Promo! ACC is over capacity, so I'm currently living in a pop-up crate. My adoption fee is waived, and my adoption comes with a $50 Chewy gift card.

Meet Bambi!

Bambi was found tied to a fence, but despite such a heartbreaking start, this sweet pup is ready to leave the past behind and find a family to call her own. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a bit of patience, her gentle personality begins to shine. Watching her confidence grow is one of the sweetest things you'll ever see.

My Ideal Home

Bambi would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. Gentle encouragement, positive reinforcement, and a predictable routine will help her continue building confidence as she adjusts to her new life. Once she feels safe, she's sure to become a devoted companion.

Good with Other Pets?

Because Bambi arrived as a stray, her history with other animals is unknown. At ACC, she has shown calm curiosity around another dog and responded well to slow introductions, so any future canine friends should be introduced gradually.

Good with Kids?

Bambi would do best in a home with teens or adults only, as she'll be happiest in a quieter environment where she can continue gaining confidence.

Things to Know

Bambi is easy to walk on leash and enjoys taking things one step at a time. She appreciates kind people who let her approach at her own pace, and every small victory helps her blossom a little more. If you're looking for a gentle companion whose trust will be incredibly rewarding to earn, Bambi is waiting to meet you.

A volunteer writes: he first time I meet Bambi, I realize that his name is surprisingly fitting. A boy, yes, and gray, not fawn, but still resembling a baby deer: lithe and quiet, with a graceful gait.

I immediately appoint myself president of the Bambi Fan Club after our first walk together, appreciating his tendency to sit squarely by my side the moment I open my treat bag. He waits patiently for his snacks, taking them gently, then assuredly carrying on. Sweet and confident, he's the kind of dog whose presence is instantly calming. (And as a bonus, he's exceptionally cute.)

We don't know anything about Bambi's past, as he was found tied to a fence in Brooklyn. He was friendly, social, and wiggly with both the responding police and shelter staff upon intake. At the care center, he has shown calm curiosity around another dog - greeting a novel female dog off leash through a barrier. Bambi initially appeared fearful, displaying a tucked tail, but gradually loosened with gentle encouragement. He approached the novel female with a soft body and soft wagging tail.

Bambi is available to adopters with some dog experience.
