Meet Roo! 🦘 An itty-bitty 40 lb husky boy!

Roo is approximately 2 years old and truly the happiest boy, with a constantly wagging tail and not a cranky bone in his body! He has a playful, youthful spirit with some puppy energy to burn, but is otherwise incredibly calm and well-mannered. He loves people-watching, gazing out windows, and spending time with other dogs. His foster brother has quickly become his safe space!
Roo is wonderful with children and loves other dogs. He walks beautifully on a leash, although he may pull when he spots another pup he wants to greet. Once he trusts you, he becomes a total cuddle bug and is learning to seek out affection on his own.

He's incredibly smart, resilient, and eager to please! He already knows "sit," "lay down," "come," "no," "yes," and "go pee-pee." He especially enjoys learning new commands with treats and positive reinforcement. Roo was found wandering the streets weighing just 28 pounds. Despite his rough start, he's making incredible progress after only five days in foster care. He can initially be nervous in unfamiliar environments but warms up quickly. We're working on crate training, building his confidence when left alone, establishing a consistent potty routine, and encouraging a little more independence from his foster brother. He's making wonderful progress in all areas! He understands housetraining and is adjusting to a regular outdoor bathroom schedule. His previously reported GI issues have also nearly resolved since transitioning to quality food.

Roo is a sweet, affectionate, adaptable little guy with so much love to give. He thrives in a stable, calm, and patient environment where he can continue learning, building confidence, and feeling safe. He's incredibly intuitive and seems to mirror the energy of those around him, a true little empath! He just needs someone willing to offer him consistency, gentle guidance, and the reassurance that he's finally safe and loved. In return, you'll get an endlessly happy, loyal companion whose tail never stops wagging!
