My foster writes: Myyha gets all the compliments for her looks, and her love style will keep you warm at night, but she's also youthful, strong, energetic and ready to help you stay healthy and social.
Meet Myyha!
Myyha came to the shelter with Mia 256742 after their family experienced housing insecurity. This social, affectionate girl is full of personality and loves being part of whatever her people are doing. Whether she's joining you for a car ride, splashing around in the water, or soaking up cuddles, Myyha is happiest by your side.
My Ideal Home
Myyha is looking for an active home that can keep up with her playful energy. She'll enjoy daily walks, enrichment activities, and positive reinforcement training to help channel her enthusiasm. She's very food motivated, knows cues like "sit," "stay," and "paw," and loves meeting new people, making her a fun companion to continue learning with.
Good with Other Pets?
Myyha has lived successfully with another dog and enjoys familiar canine friends. She can be uncertain around unfamiliar dogs, so slow introductions are recommended, and dog parks are not the right fit for her. She should also live in a home without cats or other small animals, as she has a history of chasing them on walks.
Good with Kids?
An adult-only home is recommended. Myyha can become protective of high-value toys and prefers to enjoy them without interruption, so a home that can respect her space will help her feel comfortable and successful.
Things to Know
Myyha is an energetic, affectionate girl who loves cuddles, adventures, and spending time with her favorite people. She can be enthusiastic on walks and will benefit from continued leash training using positive reinforcement. Giving her space with treasured toys and teaching fun trade games will help her thrive. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick who's always ready to join the fun, Myyha can't wait to meet you!
A volunteer writes: "Always happy to meet new people" - this was how Myyha's former guardian described her, and I quickly learn she is indeed quite a social butterfly. When I sit down in the play yard, this chonky little athlete abandons the ball she's been playing with to join me, asking for cuddles with a soft body. She even rolls onto her back, paws pointing to the sky, as belly rubs are clearly the most important business of the day! Out for a walk, she's easy on a leash and non-reactive, at times looking back at me for reassurance, if a lot is going on around us. She's also been housebroken with regular walks.
Myyha (and her sister Miia, ID #256742) lost her home, where she had lived with adults, older children, and other dogs, due to housing insecurity. Myyha is described as friendly with familiar dogs. In a shelter dog intro, she approached with a loose frame, but later became conflicted. She's reported to love car rides and water, and it's a joy to watch her fish for treats in our little pool. As I return her to the pop-up crate she temporarily calls her home, she obediently goes in, and looks back as if to ask, "We'll do this again, right?". This glass-half-full kinda girl is waiting at Queens (NYC) ACC.
