Meet Milky Way!
Milky Way was found walking alone on the street. She is a sensitive, gentle girl who is trying her best in a very new environment. She shows small but meaningful moments of trust with people she begins to know. With calm handling and patience, she can settle and seek comfort from her handler.
My Ideal Home
Milky Way would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with experience or willingness to work with fearful dogs. She will need a patient adopter who allows her to adjust at her own pace without pressure.
Good with Other Pets?
Milky Way has shown mixed responses to other dogs and can become tense in close or high-energy interactions. Careful, structured introductions and ongoing management would be important in a home with other animals.
Good with Kids?
Milky Way is recommended for a home without children under 13 due to her fearful and sensitive nature. She will do best in a calm, low-stimulation environment.
Things to Know
Milky Way walks nicely on leash but may freeze or hesitate in unfamiliar environments. She is very sensitive to handling and does best with slow introductions and gentle encouragement. With time and consistency, she shows the ability to relax and connect with her person.
Fun Fact
Milky Way may start out a little starry-eyed and unsure, but once she trusts you, she shines brightly!🌌
Milky Way is enrolled in our Shelter Scholar program and is making wonderful progress on her leash manners. Encounters with other dogs or unexpected distractions can be overwhelming for her during walks, but through her training she is learning to settle, refocus, and trust her handler. With patience and positive reinforcement guiding the way, Milky Way is growing more confident and composed with every outing.
