Invictus was surrendered to the care center as a stray, and we have no history on his behavior in a home environment. On intake to the care center, he displayed fearful and defensive behavior towards staff, lunging and hard barking from the vehicle he arrived in, and continuing to bark once brought inside. He has also shown high anxiety and reactivity, barking at other dogs on walks. Due to these concerns, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can allow for decompression, provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based), and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
