Meet Matchday—but my foster family calls me Bubba!
Matchday is an approximately 3-month-old mixed-breed puppy with a heart as big as his puppy paws. After being found in rural Georgia with only his sister at just a few weeks old, he spent a month in a shelter before making his way to his foster home. Since then, he’s been discovering just how wonderful life can be in a loving, stable environment.
Bubba is a very loving, affectionate, and playful little guy who truly enjoys being close to his people. He loves to play, explore, and engage with whatever is going on around him, and he’s full of classic puppy silliness. With his long legs, big paws, and floppy ears, he’s adorably clumsy and still growing into his body—making him extra cute and endlessly entertaining.
He is very food motivated and eager to please, which makes him a wonderful little student. Bubba has already started learning basic commands and is picking things up quickly. He also takes excellent cues from the resident 6-month-old dog in his foster home, which helps him with play, routine, and confidence.
Bubba has formed a strong bond with his foster family, including his foster mom, her child, and the resident dog. Because of this, he shows he has the potential to be an incredible family dog who thrives in a close-knit home where he can stay connected to his people. He is a sensitive, affectionate soul who does best when he feels secure and included in daily life.
At night, Bubba happily sleeps in the bed with his foster family and loves being close for comfort and security. During the day, he can also nap contentedly in a gated room alongside the other dogs in the home.
Like many young puppies, he is still working on potty training and learning household manners. Because of his early life experiences, he is not yet comfortable being alone and is currently struggling with crate training and separation anxiety. For this reason, he will do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog and a stay-at-home or work-from-home adopter who can provide consistent companionship and structure.
He would thrive in a calmer environment outside of a busy city, where he can feel safe, settled, and supported as he grows into adulthood.
With patience, routine, and a loving home, Bubba has all the makings of a deeply loyal, affectionate companion who bonds strongly with his people.
If you’re looking for a sweet, playful puppy who is equal parts cuddle bug, silly goofball, and devoted little shadow, Bubba may be your perfect match.
Could Matchday be the perfect addition to your family?
🏡 Ideal Home for Matchday (Bubba)
Bubba will thrive in a calm, loving home where he is considered part of the family and included in daily life. He is a deeply affectionate, sensitive puppy who bonds strongly with his people and feels most secure when he is not alone.
His ideal home includes:
- A stay-at-home or work-from-home adopter (he does not do well being left alone for long periods)
- A friendly, confident resident dog to help guide his confidence and provide companionship
- A calm or suburban/rural environment (he would do best outside of a busy city setting)
- A patient family committed to continuing potty training, basic manners, and puppy development
- A home where he is allowed to sleep near his people (he is a true cuddle companion and thrives on closeness)
Bubba is not the right fit for a home expecting an independent or crated-alone puppy. He is a “velcro puppy” who does best when he is included, supported, and given structure and reassurance.
In the right home, he will blossom into an incredibly loyal, loving, and devoted family companion.
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it's a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea.
Just Rescues does not process applications. The rescue's page is authoritative.
