Hi! I'm Unity, but everyone's been calling me Beans 🫘! My foster pawrents say I'm an extremely sweet puppy who's grown so much since I arrived.
I absolutely love people and other dogs, and I'm super friendly with both. I'm great with kids that are gentle and ask to pet me. I'm even good with cats (as long as they're not scared of me :) I just want to be friends!). I love playing with my toys, I'm a great napper, and I sleep through the night. Belly rubs, cuddles, and laying in laps are basically my favorite things and I absolutely love burrowing into blankets, couches, and pillows.
I've been working hard on my leash manners and I'm so much better now I'm settling into my routine nicely. my pawrents take me out 4 times a day and I peepee and poopy when they walk me but sometimes I have accidents when I get too excited, or if I can't quite hold it on the way down the stairs, but I'm getting better every day.
I've also started going to the office with my foster pawrent 2-3 times a week, and I do great! I'm very calm on the train - Im a reall new yorkian puppy!!- I just sit right next to my person. At the office, I say hi to everyone and then settle down in the office sofa for naps once I've gotten my greetings in.
I rarely bark and never whine, only when I'm scared or hear loud unfamiliar sounds. I've been good staying home alone for up to 4 hours. I gobble up my meals but don't care too much for treats in between meals. When learning commands, I'm motivated by verbal positive reinforcement and affection rather than by treats — I'm great with "Sit" and working on learning "Come," "Lay down," and "Down," since I get really excited and tend to climb up on people I meet. My energy level is around a 6/10 when I wake up in the morning, but it fluctuates throughout the day since I'm still young and get tired after walks.
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org, and once you are approved to adopt, you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it's a good match. We are a RESCUE, not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high-kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea.
Just Rescues does not process applications. The rescue's page is authoritative.
