What my friends at ACC say about me:
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!
I am looking for a home with a patient person.
A volunteer writes: Chili was found in one of my favorite places in the whole city. But, I'm sure his memories and recollections about that NYC park are quite different from mine. Chili was rescued by park rangers after being discovered tied to the stairs. And though that was over three months ago, it doesn't seem the trauma of that day has fully dissipated for him. Chili has been doing his best to be a good resident: sitting for treats, playing fetch, keeping his kennel clean...but we still see a fairly anxious/fearful pup on walks and when faced with new situations. Still, he maintains a sweet and earnest demeanor that we just love and we have no doubt in a less chaotic environment, his personality will really shine through. Chili will do well with an experienced family with kids 13+ that will let him acclimate at his own pace. They should move slowly with him and help to build positive associations and let him be the one to initiate interactions with people.
