Hunter was surrendered to the care center as a stray and we have no history on his behavior in a home environment. Hunter has not acclimated well to the care center environment, allowing only minimal handling. He has shown fearful behavior in interactions with staff, where he has been avoidant, tense to the point of shaking, and has head whipped when attempting to handle him. Due to his level of fear, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide decompression and any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home.
