Velveteen is at risk due to behavior concerns in care. Velveteen is reported to be reactive to dogs, lunging toward them and being unable to be redirected. She is also noted to pull hard on the leash, particularly when returning to the shelter. During walks, she may become tense and hypervigilant, requiring treats and coaxing to continue. She is noted to enjoy playing with balls with familiar handlers. Medically, Velveteen is apparently healthy.

Velventeen arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history. While in care, Velventeen has been observed to be highly fearful, noted to have a tense body, and show whale eye. She also maintains her distance from handlers. Due to the detailed behavior we recommend an adult only home.

Meet Velveteen! Though she may be shy at first, once she opens up she is a loveable and playful dog like none other. Playing fetch is the quickest way to her heart - but she's never said no to a tasty treat, either. Equally comfortable running around in the yard or napping in her crate, Velveteen can be the perfect addition to any home with the patience and dedication to get to know her.
