Papa is at risk due to behavioral concerns. During his time in the care center papa has a significantly lower threshold for arousal. Papa is noted to be social with staff and that he allows petting and follows the handler during the walk. Papa was observed to bite handlers treat pouches in multiple instances and in one instance had to be pulled off the handler by another staff member. Recently Papa had an incident in which he lunged at a staff member's abdomen and caught the staff by their sweater, he briefly tugged the sweater. This behavior was repeated and hard to redirect. Medically, Papa is underweight.

Papa arrived at MACC as a stray with no known history. While in care, Papa has been observed to have a low threshold for arousal and poor bite inhibition. Noted to mouth the handler's leash, bite their treat pouch, and jump towards their leg with an open mouth. Recently Papa had an incident in which he lunged at a staff member's abdomen and caught the staff by their sweater, he briefly tugged the sweater. This behavior was repeated and hard to redirect. Papa has been observed to be receptive to treats. Due to the detailed behavior, we recommend an experienced adult-only home.
