A volunteer writes: The first time I lay eyes on Glitter Butterfly, she's eager to exit the crate she currently calls home, and so of course with one look at her face, I oblige. No sooner do I realize she's just a baby (7 months old) and that her puppylike energy is perfectly balanced with a desire to be as close to me as possible. Just minutes after we head outside, she jumps in my lap and drapes her legs over my arms like we're old friends who've just been reunited.

She's one of those dogs who makes you feel special the instant you meet her: She wants nothing more than affection and your undivided attention, and we're already jealous of whoever chooses to provide her with her forever home. We don't know much about her past, as she was found loose on the street in Brooklyn and brought to a local police station. At the shelter, she's been extremely social, winning over new friends every day, excited to say hi to every staff member and volunteer she passes - and press her whole body against anyone who is willing to indulge in her solicitations.
