Meet Xola!
Xola came to ACC when her owner could no longer care for her. This sweet girl is looking for someone who understands that trust takes time and that the best friendships are built one step at a time. Once she feels comfortable, Xola enjoys attention, treats, and spending time with her favorite people. She is searching for a patient adopter who will help her feel safe and confident as she settles into her new life.
My Ideal Home
Xola would thrive with an experienced adopter who is willing to continue building her confidence through positive reinforcement training. She will benefit from a calm, predictable environment, slow introductions, and someone who understands canine body language. With patience and consistency, Xola can continue learning that the world is a safe and rewarding place.
Good with Other Pets?
Xola has lived with dogs previously and can be playful and social with familiar canine friends. She can be unsure around unfamiliar dogs and may need slow, thoughtful introductions to help her feel comfortable. Continued positive reinforcement training will help her build confidence around new furry friends.
Good with Kids?
Due to Xola's history of feeling overwhelmed with unfamiliar people and her potential for defensive behaviors, an adult-only home is recommended at this time. She would do best with people who can respect her boundaries and allow her to approach new experiences at her own pace.
Things to Know
Xola is a smart and spirited pup who is learning that new things don't have to be scary! She can be a little selective with her friendships, but once she trusts you, she enjoys attention, treats, and companionship. Xola is also working on her manners and leash skills, so her future family should be ready to help her shine with patience, structure, and plenty of encouragement.
